since the early 70s, nick had been basically using ludwig drum kits that were a double bass drum, two up two down configuration. but in 1979 (i’m assuming the change happened in the studio) what happened? anyone have any... “deets” on nick masons wall tour kit? though it is clear that it’s a ludwig and it’s likely white cortex.

Not sure when those pictures were taken but most pictures I have seen from the original '80-'81 tour shows two drummers with Nick's being a a black Ludwig kit with flat black hardware. The other drummer has a grey or white Ludwig kit with matching hardware.

I saw a website several years ago detailing his kit for the wall tour. I don't remember where I read it. I think his sizes were as follows;
14x22 bass drum
6.5x14 black beauty
8x12 tom
9x13 tom
14x14 ft
16x16 ft
Remo coated Ambassadors on all batter sides. He might've had 16 and 18 Floor Tom's I don't remember exactly.
