Noble and Cooley just introduced a very limited series of steambent Sassafras snare drums . 3 of each size . My local shop Drummer’s Hangout (Murat’s shop) got in a 5” model . 5” being my preferred snare drum size and it being a limited N&C snare got my GAS flowing and I bought it today . It also came with 4 bottles of N&C branded craft root beer .
This snare literally smells like root beer , especially when I took the top head off to change the batter head for a Remo CS white dot batter .
I already owned a Sassafras steambent 8”snare from Summit drums that Treviso gifted me , so I had a good idea what to expect from this snare . It is extremely sensitive and warm and has lots of body . It leans towards a maple snare sound but it is a tad warmer than maple .
I believe all the snares have been shipped to dealers so if you are interested , grab one quick .
