Does anyone know what this Youtuber means by "Japanese clone" of old Ks? Any brand, stamp, identifier, etc? Anyone here have any more information?

Maybe it's the recording, but that one doesn't do it for me. I've got an old J Caravan that sounds nice. Not old K nice, but better than the one in the video IMO. Mine is more old A nice.

1:07 hand hammered shaped Brass from Pearl then stamped to distributors names (Astro, Kingston,Maxtone etc) (in addition to "Pearl Special"
If that's an "Old J"...
1:07 --->

There also was a Reuther brass heavily hammered Made in Taiwan- if you ever come across a 20"- sounds like a Bill Stewart Ride series I..
had one could have kept it,

I think "by mistake" or when just "experimenting" the Japanese makers let out some great cymbals from time to time in the late 50's to mid-70's. Those "freaks" are the K-like ones or even nice A-like ones.
Maybe the intent was to make those for the best Japanese jazz and blues drummers? Would have been less costly than importing Zildjians from Turkey.
Instead of the usual clangy and gongy crap.....a few winners got out of the factory. I've never run into one. Still looking.

or they went the sets, the Torodors the Whitehalls... Can see a Whitehall marked Shipping box in the vintage Pearl factory video..
hand hammered Brass has had a resurgence with the Sabian Ankhs (collaboration w/A&F) and Yamamoto in Japan

I’ve had a handful of old J’s. A couple actually had some funky old K vibe.

I have a Pearl Deluxe that has quite a bit.

Are they unbranded or under the Kingston, Maxtone, Pearl moniker?

yes you never have to pay a lot for any old J.

a third way is unbranded. Only a "Japan" stamp inside near bell hole.
Or once had "Japan" marked on Top edge of an 18"..
so there's a few ways.

from old files
Still have 6- 2-20s 1-18 1-16 and 2-12s

That was (not the exact) stamp on a 20 I came across that looked- and sounded- like a K Complex ride.
And I don't think it came from the Pearl factory..(like so many of the others.
Unless it (the Reuthers) were done in one of their sister factories. Very unlike the other MIJ cymbals.

Should have kept but the craigslist fella came saw it and liked and I took $100 for it. 20" like a K Con.
Was closer to a professional cymbal than the other old Js. Just being brass a little quieter

Here's my contribution. Might sound much better now that I have better recording capabilities.....but will have even better recording gear next winter (planning on purchasing better gear).
