I bought a brick for my son, and have tried em. Whatever you do, dont buy the nylon tips unless you plan on gluing them back on. They come off very easily. I hate the feel of them myself, and they shred fast.

the whole brick isn't worth 1 pro pair (say Vic firth..)
I have one pair On-Stage 5A. They not unplayable; they're just not balanced very well*. Definitely amateur. In the local Piano store- that sells "guitars" and "drums" as a sideline is where I found them.

I'll tell ya a better one were (in that same "Piano store" Whitehall Birch 2B.
Those I actually used

*too heavy in the middle and/or front; inarticulate : )
