One wrapped on Christmas and one wrapped on new years, maybe I should wait until Valentine's day to do the bass drum.

I decided to rewrap a Slingerland snare about a year ago. I got as far as stripping the shell before I acquired some orphan 24, 16FT, and 13 shells. I decided to make a matching set. I bought more wrap. I stripped the 13 tom and then acquired some 12, 14, and 18FT orphans. All are different colored vintage 70s Slingerlands. Now I've been staring at a pile of vintage drums for over 6 months. Some have had the old wrap removed but none are finished yet. I started a year ago, and at this rate, I should be finished rewrapping all the drums in about ten years. No rush.

You are doing such a great job with these drums! Can't wait to see them all done and set up.

Almost there, The hoop repaint will have to wait until it gets warm out again. I need to track down six 70's style Slingy T-rods for the bass drum (some of them were missing but there were regular tension rods included in their place). Not a huge deal with them placed on the lower lugs of the back hoop but I'd like it to be "correct". Otherwise it's coming together nicely. Now I just need a matching 14x14 (or one to recover).

Thanks!

Couple more angles. They sound great too! Total investment (in the 3 drums) is around $375 ($125 for the drums and $250 for the wrap).

I'll have to do a full photo shoot sometime if we get a warm sunny day or I take them to a gig.

Wow! I would love to find a 3-ply Slingerland for $125, just to refinish. Love that Silver Sparkle!!
