A gentleman selling this kit said
"it's the only one like it"
(not important to me)
...A StarClassic with this color.
I have found a picture of a tangerine sparkle but thats the only thing close.
Has anyone seen this color on a Maple StarClassic before?

I have never seen it, but it is a very cool color! Is the price based on the "one of a kind" proclamation?

It´s a bit difficult to see the colour properly on these photo´s. They appear to be taken with a flash that distorts the actual colour. But from what I see, I have never seen this colour on any Tama SC kit.

That is the color: "Tangerine"
One was without flash and one with flash.
Same thing for these two. One with flash. One without flash:

Atomic Orange (AMO) and Coral Pink (CRP) but that picture is the "old" lacquered-over badge Starclassic. I don't get it.

Up to when was that badge type/ used..
Here's a 2017 catalog with colors but..
2016

that site may have catalogs going back to 600B.C.
Never saw before (but pretty good)

Actually has a "Ming" catalog of interest to some..

What year are those drums..1996?

I have seen those before and they are great drums and Japan made. Back then this kit and the Starclassic Birch had the higher end painted on badge like this and marketed as two versions in an even line. I played a set of the maple ones as a backline set on a festival a while back and they sounded really good.

I saw one of these exact kit's in a Guitar Center in Phoenix in the late 90's when i was a little kid. I remember checking it out for quite a long time as I really liked the peach and/or tangerine color showing the wood grain.
