Ordered a new kit today

I ordered myself a five piece DW Design series kit today that should be in tomorrow according to Fed Ex tracking.

I know a lot of folks say go with the Performer or Collector series, but I found what I was looking for in the Design series.

I’ve always played Mapex and Tama drums, and the DW’s have intrigued me for a while. I was able to score the kit I got today for $1600 shipped to my door.

I got a five piece for now. Two up, one down. I will probably get an extra floor tom after Christmas.

I played a white one at a jam once with an overly loud blues lawyer with some new Marshals. (He seemed to equate volume with musicianship.) Those DWs were unmic’d but they had cut and held there own.

I remember at the time thinking that kit put some horsepower in the workhorse.
