I haven't played an organ trio thing in like 25 years so this is pretty damn exciting for me. B3 players in this neck of the woods are rare as hen's teeth and Joe Doria is stonking good with blazing fingers and magic feet. We're on at 5:00-7:00 and will be totally winging it. C'mon by and watch me frantically try to keep up.

Kinda cool the the organ trio gig is next door to the guy who does all the Hammond repairs in the area.

The gig was actually in the old repair shop! They left behind several organs and leslies when they closed down. Now it’s a custom furniture shop with random Hammonds lying around. Kookie!

My last band's keyboard player (and leader) was as much of a Hammond/Leslie nut as I am, so we got along swimmingly on that issue! He always obliged my obsession by placing the Leslie 145 as close to my kit as possible simply because I loved it so much. To me, the Hammond tone-wheel organ and Leslie speaker make up the greatest musical instrument ever devised by man.

Yeah. I-5 in the puget Sound region is the main reason I am glad I retired from the music biz.

I did have the opportunity to hear Joe Doria a few months ago in Seattle at the "Tribute to Dave Lewis" show. He played with Dave Lewis's grandson on drums.
