Seriously wow , from arrival to play , so exciting , this thing is Walnut on steroids without a ring , absolutely stunning drum! 16” x 14” beauty!

Going to compliment the Crav set perfectly …. GREAT WORK @oriollo , I could not be any more satisfied! Wow!

Part of my first “in the corner” set , and it’s coming out perfect! The sound from within this thing is awesome!

Also part of this set is the Mapex Solidus auxiliary snare drum.

Beautiful drum! I'm a bit surprised by the choice of head, but I'll try to focus on the positives :p

Oriollo makes great stuff! Congrats.

How much heavier is it than a regular wood 16” floor tom?

I now have quite a few Oriollo drums with "Encore BA" heads (by Remo?!). Skeptical at first ...... especially on first tuning/hearing ....... but I've found they respond nicely to the old technique of cranking them up way high, leaving overnight, then dropping down below and tuning up to target pitch. They still sound really good (like coated Ambs .....) and seem to hold their tuning well.

Time ..... and more gigging! ...... will tell .........

Love those Bakars!

Ok so, why do you start to build your kit with 2 cymbals and one 16" floor tom?

The reason I show the drum head , is to show what it arrived with ,, was going to change it yesterday , til I tuned it and played it ,, if that head is suppose to stink - well that drum made it sound FANTANTABULOUS!

I decided to trust Oriollo’s choice , and so glad I did , this drum has such an incredible sound to it - my description remains like walnut on steroids without any ring ,, and that Encore head is part of this equation. Gigging at a church , an hour of praise music , will keep you posted if that changes - bringing this bad boy!

The weight is heavier , but not overwhelming , but you can tell the difference - but definitely adds to its incredible impactful sound. The Phantom would be for weekly gigging , and Bakar for monthly gigging - if you were going metal. I don’t mean Slayer :) ,, but for recording I could only imagine the sound the Bakar will release.

This set up right now is all Falcon hardware and drive system , one DW hardware , Zildjian Constantinople Cymbals across the board (your only seeing one section) , gorgeous 21” ultra hammered A , that amazing 14“ x 7“ Mapex auxiliary snare , and this incredible Bakar floor tom -

Update , Today I used three different heads in four different tunings - I ended up keeping the Encore’s in place ,, all three heads - Encore , Ambassador and Diplomat Fiberskyn sounded excellent. The Encore had almost zero overtones.

This floor tom not only sounded absolutely awesome in each and every tuning that I tried from the lowest to the highest , it had a sense of control that was uncanny.

Tried to take a picture without moving the drum from underneath, the inside is really beautiful, just a smooth solid sheet. Didn’t really get a good pic but here it is.

I don’t know if I’ve ever played in a band with other “floor tom” specialists, lucky you!

They laugh when I try to explain how this ride cymbal is different than the last ride cymbal. I mostly sit there and listen to them babble about guitar pedals and guitars between songs :laughing8:
