Hey and Howdy.
I jumped on the wagon, of sorts, and set the Serbian loose on a pretty cool snare build.
Haven’t received it yet, but from the pics ... it looks pretty freekin cool.
The guy is an artist. I’m impressed with his skills, for sure.

14x6
Brass
Custom wood hoops

It was built to blend in with my Noble & Cooley kit ... which it does nicely.

Well ... I have the drum. I've made some notes:
The fit and finish is incredible. He is genuinely an artist among drum builders. I am beyond impressed. I am respectful. I've swapped the heads for the Aquarian pairing I like to run and dialed it in. Good grief, this snare is cool. It handles that low and loose swampy whomp just perfectly. Raise the tension and it begins to grab some clarity ... raise it more and it becomes extremely precise. The sensitivity is good. The cross sticking on the rim is obviously spectacular. I love the openness that the wood hoops give the spun brass shell. It has that distinctive beautiful bell-like tone ... and it maintains that natural warmth that you would expect ... even into the bop zone. It's a "one snare that does it all" instrument. I can't recommend Oriollo enough. Unbelievable work.

That is a beautiful drum. Congratulations!

I too will never part with my Oriollo Mangana. It does it all.

Very nice snare! I am waiting for Vukan to get back to me about some staffing thing he is dealing with and then hopefully get a custom snare made as well.
