My singer's dentist, Brad Ross, is the son of the main character in this new play. The secondary subject is the Gold Star Studio and the 100's of hit records made there back in the day. Stan Ross partnered with David Gold and created this haven for hit records. Pet Sounds was recorded there, along with others such as La Bamba, Summertime Blues, In-a-gadda-da-vida, For What It's Worth, and so on. So my singer and her husband went to the initial reading several years as special guests of Mr. Ross. The production has its debut with the San Diego Repertory Theater this month. Could be interesting. The subject matter certainly is!
