Anyone like to make art? Post it here. Painting, drawing, sculpture, graphic design, writing, film. Whatever.

After a 16 year hiatus, I decided to try oil painting again.

FYI: I did find two other threads for art, and neither had much traction.

I don’t paint but pretty much everybody else in my family does. My mom’s paintings were once very popular in Japan. Here’s some of her newer work:

I spent two years at St Lawrence college in Kingston in their Art Program - photography, graphic design, art history, etc .

I had a blast !! I got away with more as an artist than as a drummer . Painted landscapes in the Impressionist style , even sold some of them .

I may go back to it , who knows ?

I do photoshop/graphics stuff, if that counts. Making posters and CD covers for my old band and my solo stuff. I do woodworking as a hobby and thought about venturing into paid work but I already did that with drums and want to keep it a hobby. Also did a video/song mashup of "All the Single Ladies" and "Man-Eater" that I'm quite proud of.

I don't make art, but I've owned and operated an art gallery for 35 years. My wife is a very accomplished artist that has been working for over 50 years. The arts ain't easy, as musicians we know that all to well , but we've managed to get along just fine. If anyone is interested check out stewartgallery.com

Here are some tables that I designed and built as well as our Sprinter van interior that I designed and constructed. Even came up with my own way of building the cabinets to keep weight down.

Checked out you gallery, most impressive!

Yeah, making money in fine art photography has not been easy (actually I have only sold a few things). I have gotten my art into a few places (stores, meeting rooms, etc) but usually on a "give away for free for the exposure" basis. Seems you gotta do scenic Gran Canyon/Sedona pics or western theme stuff around here to sell. Plus there is tons of competion here in Northern Arizona. Unfortunately my art has a quirky "industrial" edge to it which does not sell well. Oh well, it's my style.

I also worked on photo'ing train trestles for a while... I should try and market that, I guess... big train thing going on at the Grand Canyon (there is a tourist train up there).

Industrial:

I clicked on the attachment and it says it’s not there anymore. It didn’t pop up.
