Both places start with Can and have three syllables...Easy mistake.

Canonsburg has so little to separate it from a couple of thousand other small towns, I had to clarify. A cousin of mine had an embarrassing crush on him, he used to flirt with her mom. lol.
The Polish Prince , click the heels and kiss the hand .

Bobby Vinton is from Canonsburg Pennsylvania, south of Pittsburgh. (About fourteen miles from where I sit.)

I just went outside without a jacket and it felt like Canada, for whatever that is worth.
I’m about 40 minutes from Canonsburg, and yeah, it’s chilly today :)

Devin Townsend -- and all the superlatives that go with his name -- and all the band' he's fronted.

This one is from The Devin Townsend Project's first album Ki. This is the full album played live and it is a stunning gig. He's got Ryan Van Poederooyen, Mike St. John and Dirk Verbeuren on drums at different points in the gig. If you haven;t heard this before and you like prog metal which is on the more introspective side - then this album is for you.

Canadian bands still touring:
Mother Mother, (Ali Siadat), my fave, (and who went viral in 2020 on Tiktok, got them a Rolling Stone feature).
also Walk off the earth, (from my home town of Burlington ON), Tea Party, Blue Rodeo, (Glen Milchem), Kathleen Edwards, Jann Arden, Barenaked Ladies,
Kim Mitchell of Max Webster has had great drummers, including Lou Molino and the great Paul DeLong, currently Dave Langguth,

from the past, top of my mind,
Sass Jordan, Allanah Myles, Tom Cochrane & Red Rider, 5440, Northern Pikes, Gino Vanelli,
Blood sweat & Tears, Ann Murray, BTO, Leonard Cohen,
whew, I’m old…

Canadian Government has (had) some (I thought) cool laws that required radio and clubs to include a certain percent of Canadian content, and including Canadian musicians in festivals and bands. I was an American in an American band that used to tour Canada 2 or 3 times a year (4-6 weeks each time) and occasionally those laws would be brought up by promoters. I thought it made perfect sense.

Nice people, good musicians, and GREAT gigs up there. I loved Saskatoon, Edmonton, Yellowknife, Calgary, Banff, and Montreal. Toronto felt way too American. Hated Winnipeg. Could never get used to saying Regina.

Canadian Drummers that I love: Terry Clarke, Jerry Fuller, Jim Blackley...

Sloan, with Andrew Scott on drums. Unless, of course, he’s out front playing guitar and singing songs he wrote. Then bassist Chris Murphy takes the drum throne.
