Man, and I thought I was fit ....... well, I used to be ...... ! Today I managed 30 miles on my single-speed in 100 degree heat, but it was really hard. I'm blown away by your accomplishment and dedication to this noble cause.

Roll on, Dan ............ !!

Thanks Mike. I've been starting early on these rides (7am) in an attempt to beat the heat. BUT, around 11 am, whoosh comes the heat and it just drains you. The next two days promises to be cooler but windier. Personally, I'd rather have the heat!

Day 6 was a HARD day. 91 Miles/4100’ of climbing.

I didn’t think it would be but windy and very cool. Fortunately, a drumming bro rode the middle 50 with me. As he will today also with another friend. It’ll be great to have company on my last day.

Honestly, I’m glad it’s coming to an end. Riding roads I’m very used to has grown into a challenge. I really miss riding down the California coast and the event.

Yesterday, we rode over two local bridges and had moderate amounts of climbing. Nothing like my 6,000’ day on Tuesday but the friggen wind made it miserable. When we turned west, gusting over 30 mph. A lot of crap in road from trees.

The wind is still with us today BUT, we’re on a North/ South route which is optimal.
70 miles/3,500’ of climbing.

Side note: Someone donated $500 yesterday anonymously. Awesome.

Day 7 - 74 Miles/3143’ of climbing

Today’s ride was actually a very good day and I had three friends join me on parts of the day. We rode the beautiful Calaveras Reservoir Road. I could tell my legs were tired. And it’s a good thing that one of friends was willing to hang with me as I always hate slowing others down.
So, 564 miles in seven days! Around 30k of climbing. It’s been a good week and thanks for hanging.

Congratulations Dan
That seat you use, how would work on a mountain bike?

My son is just getting back into riding seriously. He is impressed with your riding distances, and elevations. Keep up the good work.

Nothing but respect, Dan. Remarkable dedication. I've done research into relocating in the bay area. For now, it's beyond doable, unfortunately.

And that Jenkins-Martin kit?!?! Stunning!

It is a great area for cycling. And yeah, I’m a lucky guy with the JM’s.

I see what you're trying to pedal here. Makes my 30 -45 minutes on stationary bike seem like child pay. Congrats and well done Dan.

Dan, your cycling trips never fail to amaze me. I don’t think I’ve done 110 miles in a bike total in my life! :)

And all for a worth cause. Good man.
