My dad had an '85 300SD Benz turbo diesel that hit 200k. I used to have an '88 Mustang GT 5.0 coupe that I loved! It roared and was fun for date nites! But it died at 120K and was fixed or repaired nearly daily! I then got a '99 Cherokee new and loved it. It died about 140K. My wife had an '05 ML 350 Benz. Died at 135K. She drove it without water and cracked the head or whatever it is. It was a V6 but was a dog since day one. Bought used in '08 with 25k.

My daily driver is an '03 E500 Benz V8 bought in '07 with 18K. I love the car but it has no bells or whistles....but I have a Bluetooth tape deck adaptor. My wife's current car is a '10 GL450 V8 SUV. Gorgeous 7 person largest SUV they make. She didn't want a V8 but I got it and that car is so roomy and smooth and powerful. Bought in '17 with 55K and now 75K. And my German baby is an '00, has 130K and runs like a champ.....6 speed 300hp and 1000% real sports car!

I'm gonna fail this one miserably....

...Whitey Ford, the '98 Ford Ranger I bought 8 years ago.
I think its currently at 188K, but its been parked since last winter....rats got hungry for a little plastic wrapped copper under the hood. I can't even make it out of the driveway.
Weather's getting nice again and my knee's finally healed up, so I'll likely be standing on my head, splicing wires (reliving my glorious 20's) quite soon.

...and the truck the Ranger replaced, Ol' Betsy, the 1989 Mazda B2200 I owned from 1992 until 2013 (and if you're counting, yes, that really is 21 years).
God what a sexy beast that little puppy was.
It could haul anything, always ran, hardly used any gas, comfortable to drive....I'm still trying to figure out why I sold her.
Last time I noticed the odo it read something like 258K +

I was driving this lifted '02 Infiniti QX4, but sold it at around 280k miles. It needed some front suspension work, but was still running and driving on the original engine and auto trans. Sold it to a neighbor, and still see it going down the road every now and then.

Now I'm in the process of getting my beloved '95 Nissan Hardbody back on the road. Unfortunately it's been sitting up for a few years, but it shouldn't take too much to get her back up and running. It's a 4 cylinder with a 5 speed manual transmission, and has about 175k miles on it.

Very nice. I’ve got over 225k on my ‘16 Ford Fusion Hybrid. Most were Uber miles I was driving before Covid hit. That gig is now gone.

I had a Mazda Protege that got up to 435,000. I could never have imagined the desire to take a picture of it..It became the third vehicle, and at 35 dollars a month to insure,I stopped spending money on it and I kept it going just to see how long it would last..I drove it through the back roads to my carpentry job 20 miles away...that is what ultimately killed the suspension..too many pot holes and ruts...I almost had to pay the salvage guy to take it.

I don't have any recent pics but my high mileage baby is a Silver 2002 Mercedes C240 that had 284,500+ on the odometer when I last checked it, before the LCD screen light went dead. Pretty weird but I can only see what's on the LCD screen on a cold day, but once I start driving and the car heats up, the screen slowly fades back out. I live in Houston so colder days are pretty few and far between. One of these days I'll fix that screen lol.

No one knows how many miles are this guy. Original motor was rebuilt, probably in the 250,000s, which isn't much compared to modern cars. '65 SS 396 4-speed Impala.
Big block!!!!!!!! Sweet!

Highest I have hit was 225,000 miles on my 2001 Camry 4cyl, that car was something else, truly reliable and soft. If I had space I would have kept it, just like my drums.
Oh by the way, no issues at that mileage with the engine or tranny, everything working perfectly, I just sold it because I needed a newer car.

I owned a 1990 B2200 that I bought used in the mid-1990s. It had well over 100,000 miles on the odometer. What a gutless sack of woe that thing was. A kid in a Power Wheels could pass it up on the streets. I think it had 80 horses. At one point, I found out I was only running on 3 cylinders—when I got the 4th cylinder fixed, it made just a hair of a difference. I had the "Cab Plus" model that included very tiny rear bench "seats" (more like little cushions). Put the entire band in there, with all our stuff in the bed. Was worried I wouldn't make it up some of the hills.

You know, there was a B2000, too. Not the old one from the 70's, but the original displacement of the engine used in our trucks.
It didn't have nearly the pulling power of the old 2 litre engine, or the 2.2.
I gotta wonder if someone didn't slip one in there before you bought yours.
Those things were G-U-T-L-E-S-S.
The 2.2 in my truck made the thing feel like a rocket ship in comparison.

Well, I never did measure the bore and stroke of each cylinder, so yeah, someone could've dropped in a 2000 block, I'd have no idea. But I'd be surprised if 200cc more made that much of an impact.

The nice thing about owning the B2200 was that it was impossible for me to get a speeding ticket! The sheer crapiness of that clapped-out motor found it struggling to reach any speed. The truck was only 5 years old when I bought it, so it wasn't some ancient ruin, either.

Trust me, I've driven both. It's amazing what a bigger crankshaft did for that engine.
However, the way you talk, I suspect there were more problems than just a lack of displacement.
Might've been time for an engine rebuild.
