I honor the memory of my father by trying to be an honest man . He taught me well , I carry his words and pass them on to my own son .

Sorry for you at this time D .
Hate to hear, lost my Dad this year. He had a good run and raised his family well. You will find odd things that spur good memories, cherish them

My heartfelt condolences, DTK. I lost my father in 2013 and my mother in 2014. My dad was a fun guy to say the least! I know you have your memories of your dad to remember him by. Just keep the thought of all the good times and they will make you smile.

Condolences. Right now there is a hole in your heart. It will not, and should not, ever heal. Take solace in the fact that the edges will become less jagged over time. May his soul fly free and may you and your family find comfort in this difficult time.

Sorry to hear this. The 4th of this month was the 19th anniversary of my Dad’s passing. It’s one of life’s toughest passages to lose a beloved parent. Hang in there.

He was 84.
He always wanted to be a DJ so music was always on in our house...cars...he leant me the money for my 1st real kit and let me work in his pharmacy to pay him back. We'd share books and CDs...we saw shows together (Buddy Rich, Rush, Ozomatli, Boston Pops recently).

My parents live in an independent living facility near where my band practices...so for the last 8 months or so we'd do dinner regularly. Last week I helped my folks pack their cars for their place on Cape Cod and he was so excited to be on another adventure with my mom (they met in college).

He wasn't flawless...he owned that...but he was all for more learning "if you're not learning your dead...." was one of his famous mantras.

My dad new how I felt about him...and vice versa...things can happen quickly so make sure you let those around you know how you feel...my $.02
My sincerest condolences on your loss. I lost my mom 5/16/19. I take comfort in knowing that she smiles down upon me, and watches over me. I in turn live a kinder, more tolerant life. You have your memories and pics and great stories like you shared, thats keeps them forever close

My condolences. I know how you feel. Lost my dad on Thanksgiving Day 2019. Dropped dead in front of the entire family. He certainly went out with a bang, but thankfully it was quick and painless. I think it gave some of the youngsters a rude awakening, but he was failing, and I was expecting it.

All of my exposure to music came from my father from the day I was born. He didn't inspire me to play the drums. That came on its own. But the musical foundation was definitely my father. My Dad was my best friend. We would sit out back, drinking beers, talking and listen to music all day.

Once again, sorry for your loss.
