When I read the title of the thread I said, 'Bullitt' under my breath. I see we concur on this one. My dad as well showed me the scene and pretty much ingrained it's title as 'best car chase'.

Just to be silly I'd like to add scenes from 'Smoky and the Bandit' and 'The Blues Brothers' to this list.

So many to choose from, but I've watched Ronin over and over again just for the chase scene. John Franenheimer knew a thing or two about doing cars right. He did direct Gran Prix. BUT the best one that no one knows about is this one.
