VERY thankful to end a great year with an incredible set❤
The is my 1959 Transition Badge Super Classic No. 980P Outfit in Oyster Black Pearl with yup, the optional 14 x 14 FT. Once again many thanks to Steve Maxwell Vintage Drums for another off the chart kit
Drums are dated as follows in red ink on the beautiful mahogany shells:
14 x 22 bass drum May 6 1959
9 x13 tom May 6 1959
5.5 x 14 snare July 22 1959
14 x 14 FT unreadable
First couple of pictures by Steve. Then what showed up. Then all cleaned up second set. The drums just needed a good loving cleaning. The condition is incredible. All 4 scarf joints there & original calfs on tom and bass drum. I've been salivating all over them since last Friday when they arrived. They sound incredible. They sing. First gig this Thursday & I'll be using them for the remaining 4 gigs this year including NYE.
My kind of Xmas miracle.
Thanks Santa :santa:

Oh ... my.
That is perfect.
Congratulations on an amazing find and an amazing kit. My favorite vintage shell layup. And CALF HEADS to boot! Wow!
Man, I love dealing with Steve. He has some mighty fine kits.

WOW Beautiful. Like Bill II once told me, "they were made to be played and enjoyed, so play them and enjoy them. You can't take them with you...........
