I searched and didn’t locate a specific thread for black label (1970s) Paiste 2002 cymbals so I figured I’d start one. Feel free to show off your black labels.

To start I’ll display a little beauty that arrived today, an 11” splash from 1978.

My 1976 black label 20” ride. It was a gift from a guitarist I worked with back in 2018.
His church had bought a new kit, cymbals and all, and stored the old one in a closet for years.
When they renovated they gave the kit and cymbals to the guitarist who in-turn parceled them out to friends and fellow musicians. I got the ride and it’s just fantastic.
I keep and use it with my club gig kit for no other reason than it’s the smallest ride I own so I put it with the smallest kit.
But it can sing in any situation.

I have a 20” flat ride from ‘76. I absolutely love the cymbal. Lately I’ve been using a 20” Medium from ‘77 as my primary ride. Also have a 22” ride from ‘79. It came to me with 6 rivet holes so I currently have rivets installed in it.

22” Ride
A very nice cymbal. I got it here in the past year or so, and even though I don’t really have a gig for it, it was priced right so I was compelled.

If I ever have an outdoor gig with a couple amplified instruments, this will likely get the call.

I hear ya. For me the 22” is just ~almost~ too much for most of the stuff I play.

My latest quest: German black labels! Only found in das Fatherland, never sold in the U.S. This one is "preserial" which for the German versions means pre mid '73!
Notice the font for the size in inches is different than the Swiss versions.
