Selling a few really nice 602s that I'm not using at the moment:

- 14" Pre-serial SE Hats - approximately 850g/1050g - beautiful, jazzy hats and surprisingly intact ink given the age of these. $350 plus shipping/pp OBO.
- 20" Pre-serial Ride - approximately 2400g - great all-around ride with a dry, glassy stick and complex wash. Really amazing cymbal, just doesn't fit into any of my current setups. $275 plus shipping/pp OBO.
- 18" Reissue Thin Crash - perfect all-around crash - $275 plus shipping/pp OBO.

Open to trades, and especially on the lookout for a pair of early 60s Zildjian hats. Happy to make a really sweet deal for multiple cymbals (check out my other listings)!

Do you have a closeup of the ink labels on the hi hats?
Picture quality is horrible on this forum!
They look black which is very odd, can you confirm they don't have serial numbers?

The black ink just means they were a EUR50 factory refurbish which removes all traces of the original ink. For whatever reason, Paiste chose to re-ink Fo602s using the Blue Label stamps or stencils (if that's the right word) and black ink. These should have the original embossed stamp (solid style) pressed into the metal embossed die stamp for 602s. For Sound Creations it is also the source of the ones with both an embossed logo and an ink logo. I've seen a few completely uninformed claims that somebody has a special prototype that even Pasite can't explain. It's all just lack of information.

These have been sold before and when I saw this ad I remembered that I didn't have the energy to inform the previous seller at the time. The previous seller also didn't know that fine lathing is always used on some 602 models including flat rides, SE hats, Morello sub series, Seven Sound Set. These decent definition Reverb images show no serial numbers, and also show a ripple count which is in the pre serial range. Let me know if Reverb plays silly buggers with this link.

Here is an example of a 1975 22" Dark Ride which mystified Paiste

This 22" Dark Ride is in the wiki but I haven't gone through and made a separate entry for it along with all my other examples of factory refurbished cymbals. And if you go to the wiki you can see the original images and it is easier to make out the outline form of the embossed stamp under the black ink in the style of blue labels.

Nice!
I learn something new every day!
Steve, I'd love to see your other pics! Can you email them to me?
I did make a section for factory refurbs but only have a couple of pictures of 2002's.....

Dan. Can't believe you forgot you've already seen these hats when I sold them the first time LOL.

Thank you, Steve! I was wondering about the black ink over the embossed stamp. There's a video in the original link if folks want to hear these.

Cool to see these. I’m the guy who posted the reverb listing that zenstat references. Thanks for the info — I was indeed in the dark! What I do know is that 14” SE hats like these are pretty killer hats. Tempted to revisit!

I've added that to my task list. When I did a retrieval on my database looking for the refurbished 602s and Sound Creations I didn't retrieve as many as I am sure are there. The problem is that a few years back I didn't call them refurbished, and I didn't always put the info in the same field. There were other words I used, and in different database fields. So finding them now is going to take a little while. Worst case is I have to do it by looking at the images themselves. That's a few thousand cymbal images to look through. Too much data, not enough indexing. :-(

What do you think about uploading them to a dropbox site?
I know Todd and a couple of other people use one, that's where I got some of the old catalog pics from!

Just to get files to you? I've got my own domain so I tend to use that rather than sites like dropbox if I've got too much to email conveniently. Some day (ah, the great some day) I'll be placing all my raw data and images somewhere for full public access. Not sure where yet. It might be on gethub or more likely cymbal.wiki but in a context outside the wiki itself. We'll see when I get closer to the time.

Meanwhile, give me a hurry up call if I don't get this info (pics and details) to you in a week or so. I tend to run on interrupts to interrupts and tasks can get lost. Did I mention I have stopped doing full cymbal price tracking as at the end of 2022, but I've still got approximately 1,200 records to enter. When I was really ill I tried to record full sale and images on eBay where the data evaporates after 3 months, but I left Reverb sales knowing that they remain for years if you have a link to them. Same for sales on DFO where I have a substantial backlog. I just work through them when my brain is too tired to do serious thinking. :)

Is Black.net your domain?
Is there a way to do a photo dump on there?
I'd just like to peruse the pics, I'm sure there's some gems, I'm hankering for some: Super formulas, E over trade 602's, Dynastar 602's (!), Arbiter 602's and "Customs", '40's & 50's Stambuls (wide stamp), brass Zilkos, Stambul 65's, pre serial 2002's, Giant beats etc!
