I would say think of it this way.

pst7 = 2oo2
pst8 = Signature Reflectors

Neither as musical as their pro counter parts but still very good. The pst7's have the "Light" and sound very nice to me. If your going for hard rock or metal I'd go pst8. Jazz r/b or classic rock pst7

Just my opinion.

Whale that is exactly what I was thinking. 7 would be the poor man 2002 and the 8 is a rude. Think I'm going to get the set of PST8 14 16 18 20 then add the 17 if all works out.

Any of you guys use the Paiste PST7 or PST8? Wondering about there sound an weight of the cymbals.
I just did a sound check recording on my Youtube with the PST8s. It gives you good sense of what they sound like in a rock environment, EQed and mixed. I really was impressed. Check it out :

The PST-7's are probably the best bang for the buck cymbals out there right now.....Yes a poor man's 2002, but still surprisingly giggable. They are very crisp and clean

I haven't heard a bad PST 7. I really enjoy the Signature sound best, but it's hard to justify the extra cost when I hear my PST8's.
