My mind was recently blown when I learned Pearl had made some drums in the USA. I had no idea! Anyway, I’m just now reading about it a little and am very intrigued. And of course I just saw these drums and there’sa lit that is drawing me to them.
Wondering who has some of these and their thoughts!

I had a set of those years ago. They were made in Nashville for about a year from what I recall, due to moving of the Japan facility or something like that.

Mine were 26, 15, 18 with a 14x8 snare with die cast hoops.

Nice sounding drums. Keller shells, I believe.

thanks, yeh from what I’ve read now, they expanded production at least temporarily while they worked in the Taiwan factory, to Nashville for at least three years.

I think they were making drums in Nashville for more than a year. I know you. never see many kits come up for sale. I've always thought that's cause they're all still in use!! I passed on a bop kit years ago and it's one that got away. Great drums indeed.

They made marching drums in the US too, my high school had a full set of 18-28” black bass drums.

Several years ago, I found these three made in U.S.A. maple drums by Pearl
they were part of a larger double bass drum kit
26" virgin bass and two big power toms either 14" and 15" or 15" and 16"?
I have them on a Pearl double tom stand set at floor tom height,
the 13" tom was just a random Pearl made budget line drum
that just happened to be the right color to stand in temporally
I have been looking for the matching USA made maple 13" ever since

Here's a 13/14/16/24 set that needed refinished, so I bought them from Music Go Round. Filled the pipe tom mount holes, added iso mounts, and recovered in Precision Titanium Sparkle. The located a USA Maple 18 floor tom, so luckily was able to get some more wrap from Precision (might have been the last that they had). Found a pair of concert toms from the same period, wrapped to match.
Pearl only made these in 1983, from what I understand, and they are either MX (wrapped) or MLX (lacquer), They used Keller shells and did this for the US market while transitioning to a new factory.
