They are correct. There is another set on Reverb identity other than it has a Down Beat rather than a Jazz Fest and the price is more than double than the one at Badges.

Yeah I saw that. I actually though the Badges price was pretty fair..........but not for me.

Full of vintage drums and cymbals. It’s very charming. Kinda like walking into a general store from the turn of century but full of drums. It’s not a small store but it has an immense inventory for the amount of floor space, Charlie knows how to organize.

I guess I just don't get why there is such a premium placed on the type of plastic covering you have on a drum. I have a feeling that you could get the same set in red sparkle for a fraction of that price. Heck, I could buy a new set in pink oyster for a fraction of that price.

I agree 100%. Not only does Charlie get amazing drums/cymbals, but the store has a very unique look and feel about it.

The color, or in this case the wrap used, would be a determining factor in the rarity /value of a kit because often it's based on how many kits were made using that wrap. Supply is low, there's interest in the color, so the price goes higher.
Some Ludwig examples would be TOP HAT AND CANE, OYSTER PINK PEARL, MOD ORANGE, CITRUS MOD, PSYCHEDELIC RED, and GALAXY SPARKLE.

It's just based on rarity and collectability like almost any collectable items. For example: The original Star Wars Rocket Firing Boba Fett can go for over $200k, but you can get a new regular Boba Fett on Amazon for $8.99 shipped. I recently paid $400 for a rare drum with some modifications yet I pass on $50 Acros every week........and the Acrolites sound much better. However, this is just my 2 cents.

How about the time a younger guy and his dad/ma drove down around 150 miles to deliver me a DOUBLE BASS “psych red” set …that turned out to be O P..with..COB 400 snare…?..And..it had 2 FT,s!…16 and 18”…

Bun E bought a lot of it the day I got them….
Will have to ask him exactly what it was he bought…too long ago to remember…

I do remember that most of the lugs were in rough shape….and they didnt belive me..till I showed them a very clean example I had…then,they went down on the price…

I had no idea how rare the set was at the time…...no one did!…
