I'm also gonna suggest the Paiste PST7 thin crashes. They're surprisingly good sounding for being low cost.

I agree with most of the folks here. The best inexpensive crashes I’ve played were Istanbul Xist and Pst7’s. Used A’s and AA’s are pretty affordable as well.

Recently I noticed a jump in the price of the Istanbul Xist cymbals. The 18" crash cymbals used to be about $175, now they are $205. At that price, I would pay a little bit more and get a Bosphorous crash for $250.

was at a jam session last night and there was an old Sabian AA 18 lying around that I used for a couple songs. It sounded really good. They are everywhere for not much money
