Guys:

If I send Precision drum a bass drum shell with some holes that need to be filled, and my own wrap that I have already bought elsewhere , will they fill the holes and glue the wrap on the shell?

Do they charge a high price for this service?

many thanks for your input.

Thanks,
retro

Best to contact them. They have always been super helpful when I’ve emailed in the past.

Likely yes. A few years ago (maybe 3?) I sent them a Gretsch RB 14x14 bare FT shell and told them I had found a wrap I wanted and would have it shipped over to them separately. I had bought a roll of red glass glitter off eBay and convinced the seller to ship to Precision directly, not to me. Precision wrapped that drum perfectly and shipped me the FT back with the remaining wrap, too. No additional charges or "handling fee" stuff. Just the wrap charge. (I had obtained samples of red from Precision and Jammin Sam and neither matched my vintage RB kit exactly, but the one on eBay did!)

I called them up beforehand and made sure they would do this, and they were cool with it. They are very nice people (Andrea & Gary) so for sure call them!

Highly recommended, and fantastic to deal with. George re-cut the edges on my 70's Ludwig toms recently, awesome job, transformed them. I live close by, so went in person, a real treat watching him work...

George did my MIJs to, as I waited. He has the patience of a saint to redo those thin luan edges. I loved those guys. It was a great experience to watch! Pics of the shop below -

I've posted before, but Precision built my workhorse kit from my specifications. They cut the shells and bearing edges, drilled for lugs and FT legs. I did the staining and final assembly.

Fantastic set! I need to ask them to make a 14" FT for me so I can mix and match for venues... if I ever decide to gig again...

Yes they would. About ten years ago I managed to locate some NOS champagne sparkle wrap (different shade than current production) and brought it over to them along with the shell. They did a great job installing it.

if I Send them Gretsch RB shells and ask them to also recut the bearing edges, can they cut them the EXACT same angle, etc, that Gretsch did in the 1960s?
