During our state's lockdown I was looking for projects I could do without having to go to Lowe's or Home Depot. When I was doing some spring cleaning I found these bongos I've had since some time in the early 2000's. They had seen better days as the 6" head was ripped and there were some scratches/dings in the finish.

Pulled them apart, put a little wood filler in the dings, gave them a nice sanding, then stained the outside and did a few poly coats on the inside. New heads from Interstate Cascio and boom, just like new. The 6" head wash a b*tch to put on, but it's on there now and these sound pretty decent for cheapy bongos. Not a big rehab project like I've seen on here before, but still nice to bring these back to playing condition.
