I got some of those Pinch Clips, and used one on the hihat clutch at a gig tonight, it was great! It actually took even less time and effort to use than the already-easy Remo and Gibraltar ones I usually use.

I used the clip on the stock clutch for my Tama Classic hihat; in total it weighs about half as much as the Gibraltar.

I have used the Remo and the Pearl, and I've seen the Gibraltar. Funny thing about that Gibraltar. I was working on a prototype pretty much exactly like it about ten years ago with my brother. I got the idea from a quick release fitting for air powered tools. Anyway, my brother is a mechanical engineer with access to industrial machines, and he made an original sample. Before I could go any further with it, his family life went through a tailspin, so it was on hold. Then at NAMM a few years ago, Vinnie Colaiuta and I were at the Gretsch booth and Vinnie says "Hey Paul, check this out. Isn't this like the clutch you were designing?". Oh well...

Anyway, my favorite clutch is the Tama.
