This sounds like a poorly thought out question. Are we talking physically difficult or mentally difficult?

It's not a question. It's a comprehensive ranking.
It may be a question, but it's hardly a comprehensive ranking.

Some genres offer more of a physical challenge than conceptual or musical. Some have both. And where do you put folks like Meshuggah, Steve Coleman, Frank Zappa, Dhafer Youssef or Dan Weiss?

The algorithm considers all those factors, and hundreds of other variables.

Without a proper reference to a full report of this research including the methodology this is just more internet fluff. A highly complex human brain (BA, MA, PhD and over 40 years science research experience) created the previous sentence.

I'm obviously listening to the wrong hip-hop and polka music!

As an engineer/nerd, I would be interested in knowing who developed this "algorithm", what it was running on, how and where it got it's inputs, and who verified the results. Looks to me like it didn't have a complete sample set and/or it is simply just a bad algorithm...
