The previous owners had applied stickers and decals. The head is white but fortunately the coating is on the inside, so that should help in efforts to remove stickers and decals. The cool old Everplay logo at the bottom has survived. In any event, how should I go about removing decals and stickers?

Mineral Spirits. You might be tempted to use heat from a hair drier or heat gun. Don't. That should only be done if you have some dents that need to be removed. (Yes that does work)

Take your time and they should come off just fine.

how about an ink stamp? Will mineral spirits remove those without removing the coating?

I don't know about using mineral spirits on the coated side. It is pretty gentle but you would have to test a spot. I know that hair spray is good at removing ball point pen ink marks from painted surfaces so if goo gone doesn't work maybe try hairspray.
