Replacing Alesis hi hat with Roland?

I have an Alesis Strike Pro kit. I am not having much luck with getting the sounds out of the hi hat. I know there are adjustments that can be made, but from what I have read the Roland hi hats have much better triggers and are a better quality. Will a Roland hi hat work on an Alesis module? Any help here would be appreciated. Obviously, I hate to splurge on a different hi hat, but I don't want to constantly fight this issue.

It's not the trigger element you need to worry about (it's just a piezo). It's the controller element. Every manufacturer's controller is slightly different and generally speaking it's best to keep the same controller manufacturer as the module manufacturer.

If you have Alesis, best to fire off questions in their forum.

Good luck.
