Don’t see these everyday. 20’s Chinese Tom Tom. I believe both Leedy and Ludwig might of offered these.
Unfortunately someone painted it gold, I tried to remove the gold paint but it would not sand or strip off very well.
I found some pictures and info and just decided to paint it as it would of been when they sold it. ( or close to it)
I am also working on a smaller Chinese Ludwig Tom that they painted gold also.

Yeah.....that turned out really terrible. If you ship it to me I will take care of it for you.

Actually that is really cool. Good call on painting it and if you ever want to get rid of it...........

Thanks rikkrebs, it actually came with a whole trap kit and I have another Chinese tom which they also painted with this strong gold paint so restoring that also.
It is a cool 1928-29 kit, I was hoping that the gold paint would come off easy and leave original paint behind but no such luck.
It is a cool tom tom and kit.

That's a neat find. Very cool. I saw a listing for a couple tympani drums that were built somewhere in the mid-1800s. Really neat.

I will set it up on it’s stand and give it a whirl. Not sure if I will know how to upload a sound file though. Probably same way as a photo!!!
