I wonder if he got that 20" Medium Ride that's in Get Back in 1967 when he got the Sound Edge hats?
Here's the video/film of them recording "hey bulldog", looks like Ringo's got his lucky 20" 602 med. ride on his left!

Just watched the 3rd part of the Get Back documentary and noticed that during the rooftop concert, Ringo has a 3rd cymbal between the floor tom and the bass drum....what that a Paiste too or? I didn't see it when they were recording in Twickenham and the other location,

October 1962-
Looks like 4 rivets were reinstalled. I am pretty sure the PPM cymbal had four rivet holes.
Interesting shot over Little Richard's shoulder-- when the Beatles opened the night. Looks to me it is what I think is the Stambul and I would say a calfskin tom head.
January 27- 1962- looks like the cymbal he would bring to America. zyn or Kamala?

Howdy neighbor! Yes I'd love to! I recently got this Stambul, sounds great and just like the end of the song Please Please Me.
It makes me wonder @type85 if he had another similarcymbal like your Stambul... Or if this is an Ajax?
Also,
I recently received this 50's Zildjian that I think has a similar sound, hammering, conical bell shape, and lathing lines to Thee 20" Zildjian he used from Aug '64 to at least Feb '67. I will try and make a video soon. It has a nice low 1900gram crash that I am eager to test out with compression.

In the picture above with Lennon wearing glasses; that looks very much like a "big bell" Stambul, they always had that hard "transition" from the edge of the bell to the bow of the cymbal.
I can't tell what he's using in the cavern club video, however, the Cavern club in Hamburg was pretty close to the German Paiste factory in Rendsburg, I wonder if Ringo took a trip on an off day?
I think Paiste transitioned to a more conventional bell around or after 1965 on the Stambul's, do you have a closeup pic of the logo for your cymbal?
Does it have a location (Switzerland or Germany) stamped in it?
Does it have a standard hole size (½") or does it look relatively small (3/8")?
Any idea of the weight?

Here is the stamp! Very faint, my guess is that this cymbal is in the 1800gram range but I'll weigh it asap. It has a higher pitched sound to it, I hear the ending of please please me every time I play it! Here are some previously posted pictures that lead me to believe his was a Stambul, or at least a Paiste cymbal. Also, I live in east LA!

Now I am curious if we can tell if the bottom hi hat could be the early 602 sound edge like we see in Get Back. There is something about the color overhead shot of the hats below, that leads me to believe that he might be using the SE bottom hi hat.

So this is what I'm seeing in your logo (your logo is on the left, modified for clarity, then a clear example on the right).
No location name below the "Paiste" script, could be a pre '57/'58 because of lack of location name. Robert moved to Switzerland in '57 and started up cymbal making in a one room shop all by himself! At some point after that they started to stamp Germany or Switzerland to differentiate the two locations......

Here's an excerpt from Bil Ludwig's book about how and why Ringo chose Ludwig over his current Premier set!
As we all know, this one decision changed the world of drumming in so many ways!
Ludwig goes on to explain later in the book how that had to run an extra shift until 1:00am to produce 100 drum sets per day, they also expanded into another building to accommodate the extra staff.
My opinion is this partnership created the explosion of popularity in England causing virtually all English rock drummers that followed to play Ludwig.
As we all know, this one decision changed the world of drumming in so many ways!

That's Ivor's version of the story but Ringo now says he saw the full set in the store window and fell in love with the look. Who's telling the truth? I suppose we'll never know.
Although you can't just peel off a wet-slide decal....so there's a strike against Ringo's version of the tale.
The decal on his first set did slowly chip away until it just read "Lu" at which point they had a full logo repainted on in a slightly off font.
