My floor tom has separation at the joint on both ends. Same for the bass drum on one end. It doesn’t look to be from impact but rather the shell has shrunk just enough to force the rings away from it.
I did a little gentle test clamping (without glue) and there is not enough gap to easily press them back into position. Should I attempt to get some sandpaper in the gaps and open it up? Is there another method or should I just not be worried about it? Thanks in advance.

Hi Dave, I wouldn't worry about it. That is a pretty minor separation. I have bigger gaps on some of my Rogers and they never got worse or impacted the sound. You could get some glue squeezed in there and clamp it til it sets just as a precaution though.
