It was over too soon (typical)...
Sorry about the Premature evacuation

I was packing up and needed to get off the street.

I was only going to post the first video. This was mainly to show how cool the pink glass glitter is under that lighting

The 2nd video was a "quicky" the guitar player took after he packed up and was ready to leave.
It ended up being a duo. My friend John on guitar, vocals and bass pedals.
Repertoire was
Al Jarreau, George Benson, Steely Dan, Beatles, a few ballads and lots of Blues Shuffles.
So I tuned my little 16x13 bass drum accordingly. And the Coliseum "rocked".

If you are ever board and want to do a tuning range video on your 13x16 I would sure be greatful. I made one in the same way as yours out of a mahogany Premier floor tom and have not really explored tuning it much yet other than "high", and even then I don't really know what I am doing. Just a thought, if that is not your jam just keep doi g what you are doing, all good.

Sure. Will do.
Here is the bass drum sound from the other night. Tuned for straight 8th jazz, pop and rock.
I have a hand towel against batter head on the ground .

Batter head medium. Front head loose.

You have to use earbuds/headphones to watch this. Crank volume up.

I think it sounds closer to a 20x14 bass drum.
Also.... im using a wood beater and a square of moleskin in batter side where beater hits.

Thanks! Nice versatile sound.

Coated ambasadors both sides?

Moleskin is in the batter side or on it as a typical patch?

Thanks. ON the batter side. Not inside.
You can see it at end of video.
Coated ambassadors both sides.

Yeah Ive used that bass drum with big band and drummers said from out front it sounded like a 20".
They come up after the 1st set "that thing sounds huge!".

Ive also tuned it super high and no towel and it is very musical ala Billy Billy Higgins 16x16 ft/bd.

I love it. And its so light to carry and put on my little cart.

Yamaha Stage Custom bop, with a 14 X 6 1/2 Sonor SQ1. Either that, or I'll bring out my 14 X 5 N&C snare drum instead.
