Hey all! I figured I’d mark this occasion with a post on the forum: I’m selling my first kit. For $450 I’m selling my Tama Imperialstar set, my very first set. I bought it in 2021 for about $650 from my local Sam Ash, and have since added to it. Pics included, I’ll list everything they’re getting:

10” rack tom (Evan’s EC2 head)
12” rack tom (Evan’s EC2 head)
16x15” floor tom
14x5 snare drum

Not matching-
PDP Spectrum 14x5.5 snare, black matte.

Cymbals:
Matching/HCS-

14” Hats
16” Crash
20” Ride

Not Matching-

20” Paiste 201 Bronze Ride

Equipment:
Iron Cobra 200 kick pedal
Three cymbals stands (hi-hat and 2 standards)
Snare stand
Tama throne

That was quick!
Nah, I’ve had it listed for almost 2 weeks and it just sold. I more just wanted to share the momentous occasion I get rid of my first kit with the forum

Pretty good haul for the lucky buyer, huh?

Well done.

The more important question is what are you going to get now?

I have already gotten my Recording Customs :icon_lol: I just needed to get this out of its way + I needed the money pretty bad at the moment, a lot of sudden expenses showed up.

Those are excellent sets for the money. Have sold many of the recent (and older) Tama Imperialstars and their other lower priced sets. The hardware could stand up to any gig. If they were around in the '70s, they'd have been the best drums available.
10 demerits for not knowing the size of your own bass drum!

You gave the buyer an excellent deal. And congratulations on the new Recording Customs.

Quite frankly I bought this set before I really understood drums. Now almost two years later while buying Recording Customs I delved deeper into actual drum sizing and construction so I’m no longer uninformed. I could tell you everything about my current set, but this old set is between two for me. I think it’s a 22x16, but it could also be a 20x16 according to Tama’s website. I also don’t have anything to compare it to at the moment and no tape measure, so my best guess is it’s the 22x16.

But we'll give 2 demerits back for the cool socks :)

The RC is a 22. Does the RC head fit on the Tama? That's my scientific method for figuring out which bass drum I'm working with.

True story: first time I needed to replace my bass drum head, I walked into the store and asked for a bass drum head. The guy says "What size?" I was like "Size?" He goes "It's probably a 22." And fortunately he was right. :)

Congrats on the sale! Something I've yet to bring myself to do.

Do you have a picture of the RC's up somewhere?

Yep! And I don’t know, they’re actually in two different locations haha! I’m going to do the cymbal trick though, I have two 20”s up there as we speak

I do! But I’ll attach some here, for you, not to derail the thread.
