Your two metal Starphonic Drums are some I'm considering getting for Mym collectio, at least the Copper because I have no coppe, the Star Reserve hammered copper I see now oot or my reach at 1800 Can$ plus taxes and I was told that I might be disapointed with another aluminium snare now that I have a Dunnet. How do you like them and which one do you play the most between them , copper or aluminium?I think this is my third posting into the "Show Off Your Entire Snare Collection" as it is always changing. I have been using the recent down time to make some decisions about selling and buying, and have already sold and bought! I have a few more snares to sell, but not on the look out for anything new at the moment. With my recent additions, I have put together a much smaller group that covers everything I need very well. While I am missing the accepted requirements of a good American snare drum collection, I have had them all many times over and this line up offers me everything I need .... for now!

But to be honest... the first two in each row are not actually a part of the "playing collection". I built the silver sparkle for my son back in elementary school band and it now has been given to my Grandson, it just happened to be here at the house yesterday so I tossed it in. The blue sparkly Remco sounds like rump, but it was my very first drum so it stays... just not played! Here is the actual line up I choose from to cover any need at the moment...

Thanks for the look... since I am only getting to play one time a week at the moment (and that is only two to three songs per service) just lining up my snares and taking pics even makes me happy right now!!!

Wel, I have my answer, you ditched the 3 Starphonic and bought 3 Tama Star/Star Reserve!!It's fun to pull this thread back up top after almost a full year. I was doing an afternoon of general housekeeping on my current snare collection today and thought I would shoot a new family portrait. I have posted 4 times in this thread (Dec. 18, May 19, Jan. 20 & May 20) and I'm amazed looking back tonight at how much my humble little family has changed in that 3 year period. I think I'm in a pretty good place now as far as voices and having instruments I truly wanted to own and keep... I guess we will see!

So, it's the most recent Gadd signature in Steel, right? If yes, maybe because he's my best drummer of all time and then, I might be biaised but how do you like it? Is it worth 1000$? If I buy a steel snare, I feel it's either this one or the Dunnet...My current collection - each one offers a unique and versatile voice, and rotate through them frequently…
