Ahhhh copper, maybe the most divisive of all the alloys used in snare construction. But I know you have some tucked away in your collection so let's see em!

I went back 5 pages under "copper" to see if we had this thread already running but missed it if we do, so let's start a new one. We currently have 162 snares posted (by photo) in the Brass thread, with 303 in the solid shell and around 85 in the stave thread. I would be suprised if this one even reaches 100 in a year, but as my favorite alloy. I looking forward to what you may have!

I suppose I should go first as I opened the "can"... 2018 TAMA STAR 6 ½” X 14” Reserve Copper TSC1565H

I think that the mother of all Copper drums is the first generation 90's Yamaha Seamless Copper Snare Drum that was made by the Japanese artisans that made the copper timpani drums for Yamaha. These super heavy weight seamless copper shells just have something very special about them. I have owned at least 6-7 copper drums from other drum makers and none of those drums had what these first generation Yamaha Seamless Copper drums have...it's a super fatness of tone and a feel that makes them very special. I have a few 6.5x14's in my collection, including one that is NOS in the box, never played. This one has been played, but it is super MINTY. It sounds incredible and I'll be bringing this one to my recording session next weekend. Chances are good that it will make it onto a track or two out of six to be recorded.

As much my fondness of Yamaha if never could get used to their copper models.

But when I heard George Daniels play the Ludwig Raw Copperphonic live when we watched the band in London, and tapped on it in the store I knew it would be a much better fit if I would go Copper again (I tend to find them too dark in general).

Btw.

What about a full Adrian Kirchler copper kit:
