That's a cool looking pattern on that shell... do you know how they did that?
Ummm...with a hammer?.. ;-) Sorry couldn't resist.
I'd guess they machine hammer the sheet of copper prior to making the seamless shell, but that doesn't explain the bead. Maybe after?

It's so uniform, that I'd assume it is rolled with a die, not too unlike how they make the center bead.
Certainly different than the machine hammering performed at the Ludwig factory or the actual artisianal hand-hammering of Tama Star Reserve shells.

I think we have a guy with some rosewood temple drums on the forum isn,t it? I think i prefer the copper color one, not the green one.
I loved them both but chose to keep the copper color one as it was actually a tad less dry which I prefer! I have used it for literally every gig since it arrived. Such a killer snare. And yes, @aparker2005 has at least one drum from these guys and was part of the inspiration for my order.

Ha great, yes, they are awesome, do you think they are up to par with a N&C Copper ?

That was the only Brazilian Rosewood they ever did, and it's an absolutely incredible snare! Glad you're enjoying the copper! Temple definitely makes wonderful drums.

The N&C is rolled and welded and, having owned a wealth of their stuff in the past, I'm not a huge fan of their hardware. The Temple is seamless and the lugs are solid brass made to his specs, and you get a Trick strainer on it. Additionally, his strainer and butt are mounted using a patented floating system where they don't attach to the shell. I'm a huge fan! Let me know if I can connect you with him - nothing in it for me whatsoever.

Been looking for this one for a while!
Finally found one and it looks like it’s in great shape - the famous Pearl Marvin “Smitty” Smith Copper 4x14 snare. Can’t wait to try it out!

Here's my Ludwig 6.5x14 Copperphonic. I don't quite agree with Carter McLean who stated "If I had to pick ONE snare.... this would be it" It does sound great though.

To my knowledge Carter McLean uses the Tube Lug model - maybe that could be the game changer? :)

I've kicked around the idea of swapping the lugs. The drums sounds great as is though. Man, Ludwig's brass tube lugs aren't cheap either.
