I've kicked around the idea of swapping the lugs. The drums sounds great as is though. Man, Ludwig's brass tube lugs aren't cheap either.

I just received the tube lug model yesterday and as far as I can tell till now I like it very much.
Will take it out on a gig on thursday, I'm curious about how it works in an actual musical environment.

Maybe somebody would like to swap their tube lug model for your imperial lug model?

I unfortunately sold my pork pie copper. I really thought it sounded entirely too close to my 402. Now I'm looking at another PP copper, but not sure it's worth the small difference in sound, or selling a 402 for one.

I think I just loved having a metal snare material that wasn't the usual. For some reason copper feels more "exotic" than aluminum lol

Arrived today and just finished adding chrome over brass hoops, Canopus bolt tight washers, and Canopus snare wires and belt, and the Gruv x click which I just started getting to know. View attachment 596064
fitzsy,
You’re a man after my own heart. I outfitted my raw 6.5x14 Copperphonic just like that. I’m wild about this snare drum.
