Center (above): 22" A Zildjian Swish Knocker (1990s)
Right: 22" A Avedis Zildjian Dark Ride (2020)

WOW... their are some truly beautiful rides in this DFO family... I want to play so many of them just from the pics! This was a fun project CC, it gave me an excuse to get out all the cymbal bags at one time and take a family portrait and a blast to play them all at the same time... I have NEVER done that before! So thanks for the idea.

OK, here is mine today! I say that because I will pick my favorite of the two Sabian rides this week and sell one of them on. I have severl 20" crashes that I do ride on, but these are my actual rides. But for today it looks like this from left to right...

A) 22” HHX Legacy Heavy Ride (3055 grams)
B ) 22” Crescent Element Ride (2610 grams)
C) 22" Istanbul AGOP Signature Series Medium Ride (2627 grams)
D) 22” Bosphorus Master Vintage Ride (1993)
E) 22” UFiP Natural Series Crash / Ride, Red Label (2425 Grams)
F) 20" Istanbul Mehmet Nostalgia 70’s Series Ride (1778 grams)
G) 22" Istanbul Mehmet Nostalgia 70’s Series Ride (2290 grams)

22” Paiste Twenty Masters Dark

20” Paiste Twenty Masters Dark
21” Paiste Twenty Masters Dark Dry
20” Bosphorus Groove Trash Crash with 3 rivets (used as a Ride)

My collection has turned into pretty much all Funch Cymbals now, in the last 6 months. Couple of Zildjians still left but I haven't had any desire to play them lately, so maybe they'll get to go too.
It blows my mind that the Funches are all made from similar blanks but they sound all so different from each other. All fantastic, but still strong individuals, so I don't feel that there's overlap.

21" Kuru at around 1875 gr on the left and 22" Spizzichino Tribute at around 2400 gr on the right.

One word, that always pops into my head when playing that one, is sweet. It's just very sweet, pure and buttery, sort of gentleman type of cymbal without being boring or one dimensional, reminds me of Kind of Blue actually.
Great stick definition for it's weight, typical for Funches.

Sounds like this:

Coupla new to me Paiste cymbals. I've been wanting something with a bit more stick than my Masters 22 & 24 Thins. 21 Light Dark Ride and 24 Masters Deep Ride. The Light Dark is a "get one back" cymbal for me. Had a 20" version that I got rid of in 2008 and always regretted letting it go. Might be Paiste's best "catch all" cymbal they've ever done. Stick, bell, crash, and this one has 2 rivets so it's got the sizzle as well. Discontinued long ago and very rarely come up for sale, especially the 21 and in this condition. The 24 Deep ride is a manhole cover at roughly 4000g, but it does give me exactly what I was looking for... stick articulation out the wazoo!

My modest Paiste ride collection. I also have a 20" Giant Beat, but I use it as a crash, so I didn't include it.

- Zildjian hi bell thin high, ~1800
- Lauritsen Rustico, ~1900
- Skiba turk top, heavy, ~ 2450
- Nolan flat, ~2000

Bottom:
- 24 Skiba turk top with a gentle umbrella profile, ~3000
- 24 60s A, ~3200
- 23 trans stamp with a dramatic edge flange, ~3000.

...forgot a couple...from the days of yore....

Ludwig_ClassicMaple_07-99.jpg

Ludwig_ClassicMaple_20061012_1.jpg

Top pic, from July of 1999. I had just taken ownership of The Ludwig Kit. Seen is the 20" Paiste Mellow Ride (on left) and the 20" Grand Master Original Light Ride (on right).
Bottom pic, from October of 2006. I had just received the ride and the snare drum (Tama Stagestar). The ride is a 20" Paiste Traditional Light Ride I got from a very nice person at Cymbalholic.
These days, the finalized cymbal setup for the Ludwig kit is that ride, with the 18" Paiste Trad Flat and the 13" Paiste DE/Sig. Med. hats seen in the bottom picture.
They all work very well together, but require a stick with a rather light touch.
