I was trying to explain what my old sizzler looked like to my wife. Then I found this on ebay. $95. I went to Menards, got a 12" length of square rod, I'll cut a piece of guttering and bend and drill for rivets then drill for attaching. I still have the attaching screw. It's more fun my way.

Cool project! I have noticed two different versions of this model on ebay. Does anybody know which came first? I also have a MIJ copy that I picked up at least 20 yrs back. Just recently bought a Camco model that was laying around in a parts bin of a music store in Burlington, VT. Needless to say, I got it for a lot less!

I bought the one pictured in mid 60s. I have never seen the other "round end on a wire". I believe I paid $10 or less for mine. I did like it because I could take off the sizzle quickly and quietly. I used it for several years.
