This is a late 1970's vintage chrome over wood (5 ply) Slingerland Spitfire. 5.5" shell chrome over wood.

Condition is very good with less than normal wear for a drum of this vintage. TDR strainer works great, puresound wires. Please see photos.

$500+ shipping

Thanks in advance.

Cool, I just sold a 10 lug 5 ply COW with TDR, but it was missing the proper strainer parts that keep the snares lifted out. I sold it to a local guy for $50

The Spitfire is one of the finest drums produced in the last 40 yrs, IMO.
I’ve played on one since ‘80.

I had a COB Spitfire with my Rogers Celebrity kit that I purchased new in the fall of 1972. This is the only picture I have of the snare drum. I will say that it can be tough to tune 12 lugs, since they are so close together!

In regards to the TDR snare system, they are designed to use snare wires that extend past the shell on both sides.
