Hi everyone,

This recently crossed my path and may come available. Haven’t seen it in person but I think it’s an 18” based on what my source said. Will need a little love but seems to be in decent shape. Is that rail mount original? It seems to me it is but I’m unfamiliar with that era’s hardware specifics.

Thanks in advance!

Seems to be correct Slingerland 60's bass drum with gold and black badge. Rail looks ok to me. Badge probably rotated out of the normal position.
I can't tell if it's 18 or 20 inches with nothing else for reference. The rail from end to end is 6". And the spacing between lugs is about 6". That's one way to tell if you have the right view.

Very cool if it’s an 18. Make sure it’s in round what with the front rim being gone. The badge does look sideways. Good luck with it.

A lot of Slingerland badges spin as a result of a loose grommet, which is easily remedied. Looks like a 20" bass to me.

Serial number 2772. 1963 maybe? Made an offer yesterday and I’m waiting to hear back. It looks like a 20” to me from the pic. Any idea of its possible worth if cleaned up and de-rusted?

Right on. It’s helpful to see the wrap under the badge. Fade looks to be very minimal.

Last time I sold a single Slingerland 20, I only got about 200-250 IIRC. It has been several years though.

Serial 2772 would be expected for late '62 (Oct./Nov. most likely). A date stamp may be present. Drums of this era would still have a mahogany interior. The tom mount may or may not be Slingerland but it is definitely later. The 4-bolt mount was first used by Slingerland in '64, prior to that the rail mount was a 2-bolt style.
