VINTAGE YELLOW SLINGERLAND kit for sale $3,300 from my friend , if your interested Doc.

1960's gold satin flame
All shells are 3 ply w/ rerings and natural inners.

8" x 12" Rack Tom
16" x 16" Floor Tom
14" x 20" Bass Drum
Tom hoops are COB
Includes BD mounted cymbal arm.
Condition good, overall.

Wrap is fairly clean and tight but also has a fair amount of scratches and cracks around hardware.
Chrome is all pretty clean.
A couple non-original tension rods.
Bass drum spurs are not original
Rack and floor tom have unoriginal badges [new repo] and grommets. Unsure if holes for them existed prior or if they were drilled for.
Bass drum hoop inlay looks unoriginal. BD hoops appear to have been refinished but look great.

Nice kit it seems. I’m not a vintage guy unless it has the name Orion attached to it , but I thought maybe some members here may enjoy looking at it :)

NO!
Sorry … but definitely no.
That is WAY beyond overpriced.
And the wrap and hardware isn’t what I’d call presentable.
And it’s concert toms.
There are much nicer Slingerland kits out there for a much more reasonable price.
Yes, that is a cool wrap.
No, that kit is nowhere near worth the look.
Just my nickel.

It’s pretty.
The seller has a right to price it to his liking, but it is extremely high.
I may not be aware of the rarity of the gold, or (yellow wrap), but otherwise, it has issues.
Others will likely chime in. I’m not going to get too specific.

The toms are supposed to be setup the other way on that set- its catalog name was the Modern Combo. The standard bass was an 18"- the 20" was an $8 extra option. Even with the 18" bass that set would barely get of the 3 figures.

After 20 years of ownership I sold these for $1000 (in 2020). @glaze148 was selling a Sky Blue Ripple bop set, (18” bd) for something north of $2k. The Slingerland market doesn’t typically exceed that. Wish your friend the best of luck with the sale.

there are three toms there. In the catalog this was 10, 13, 16 with an 18” bass drum. Overpriced but cool.
