Hello friends

I'm using a snare cord threaded through the clamshell holes to attach snares on my vintage Slingerland.

Do you know where to get the screws or what size/thread etc they are?

Have other mounting ideas?

Thanks

Take the strainer or the whole drum to the local hardware store and see what works best.

Hey Blue Ant;
Sllingerland's clamshell strainer takes specialised, extended snare wires that attach directly to the strainer and butt using the bolts you are missing.

And for them to sit properly, you need a washer between the snare tab and the strainer.

Please explain your statement about the washer. I recently bought a 1950's Radio King and want to make sure I'm not missing something when I detail it.
Thanks,

Slingerland used a spacer with the clamshell wires. Most of those are now gone with the wind. Adding a washer/spacer in essence does the same thing. Helps level the snare wires to the head. You may need to try 1 or a few different washers for correct thickness. Without it the wires can bow upward under tension. No one I know repops the little spacers. Took me years to find a set NOS.
