I picked up this 14x5 70's (Maybe 80's) Slingerland TDR COB snare for a good price last weekend and I'm pretty impressed. I forgot to check the serial number so I'm not sure if it was labeled "Buddy Rich" or just "TDR". I'll check when I get home.

Very nice. I thought the Buddy Rich didn’t have a muffler, or was it an option?

The serial number is 241002 so I'm guessing the drum was from around 1977 and would have been labled the "Buddy Rich" at that time.

Does this sound correct?

Then it is the Buddy Rich model, it was the only one with three air vents.

Careful, the three air vents alone does not verify a Buddy Rich model. Several snare models featured the three air vents including the Concert King, Spitfire and post Buddy TDR's.
