SOLD: Craviotto 6.5x14 walnut snare drum, like new!

I'm offering my Craviotto walnut snare for sale. It's 6.5x14, 10 lug and from 2016...signed by Johnny himself before he passed that same year. I purchased it brand new from Steve Maxwell and haven't really used this drum at all. It still has the factory heads, original box, paperwork, case, etc., just as it was shipped to me from Steve Maxwell. The drum is a solid piece of walnut, no inlay. I ordered it specifically with no inlay, as I didn't want two pieces of walnut joined together in the center. This one is a single piece of steam-bent walnut. It's basically a brand new snare drum, just been sitting in it's case. I will add pics when I arrive home tomorrow. It's a gorgeous drum, and Johnny is unfortunately not signing anymore drum shells. Get these while you still can. $1300 + shipping.

But I am curious why it would be a 2 ply shell if there was inlay? I would think they would simply carve a small groove for the inlay. I have Craviotto hoops that are solid single pieces with inlay......

It would not be a two ply shell. Let me try and explain...With deeper shelled Craviotto drums, the shells are often stacked on top of each other vertically. They are joined together at the center, forming a slightly visible seam. The signature inlay covers this seam. My Craviotto kit is like this on all the shells. But it's not two ply, it's two single ply shells stacked together and joined in the center. When I ordered a snare drum, I wanted it to be a single board. Hopefully this makes sense?

On the shallower drums, they are single boards and not joined in the middle. Bass drums and floor toms are typically two boards joined together and the inlay hides the joint. On the smaller drums, the inlay is just added for decoration. Snares are always a single board, unless you have a 'Neapolitan' type, as I do. Mine is a walnut / curly maple / walnut snare with two inlays.

I’m not home for a picture at the moment, but it’s super rare. I spoke directly with Chris Brady about it around 13 or 14 years ago, and he said there MAYBE were 10 snare drums made out of Zambezi Redwood. I have never seen another one for sale. Mine has a lacquer finish. It’s still mint condition and only seen use in studio sessions. Haven’t used it in probably 10 years. No desire to sell it, but I would consider an offer if someone thought they just had to have it.
