SOLD Gretsch Round Badge Dixieland 5.5x14 Snare

Howdy all,

Im looking to sell this 6 lug Gretsch snare. Clear interior and mahogany stain that appears to be factory. There’s some minor spots of corrosion on the hoops and some scratching on a few lugs, some splotches on the interior (including on a ply of bird’s eye maple) but overall it’s very clean and edges look good. Renown strainer is in good shape and works well. I tried my best to capture the condition in the pics. Comes with original 12 strand Gretsch Responso wires!

Anyone following my thread in Vintage Venue may have seen this already. I cleaned it up, straightened the hoops a bit, and threw on some decent used heads. I played on it for a short while, but it doesn’t seem like it would suit my current needs.

Great price. If you can find a set of the 6 hole Die-casts that the later versions of this drum came with they can really change the sound.

If I didn’t already have a Dixieland I would snatch this one up. I personally would probably really like the sound of this drum as is!

I think I have 4 Dixielands at the moment. All of them have the die-cast hoops. They work great for a fat sound although the Renown throw offs can be pretty finicky after 50+ years.

The few that I’ve come across (including this one) have all worked perfectly.

Sadly, I do not at the moment. I could make one, but all I have available to record with is an iPhone. Usually a poor way to showcase sound.
