Some Clown is on the Drums

We just came off of International Clown Week (August 1 to 7) so here's a great Clown set.

1960's Gretsch 20/12/14/5.5x14 in Mint Condition that belonged to the Zuhrah Funsters out of Minnetonka, MN.

It's also the only multi-band finish Round Badge Gretsch drum set that I know of though I have seen marching drums. Any other sets out there?

Wow! Cool set with a side order of Bongo Madness.
I don't recall Gretsch offering combo color swatches in their catalogs but they would offer marching drums in Tri-Tone Finishes.

I can dig it right up until you get to the green inlays. They take it from "odd but cool" to clown vomit.

This finish is just un-freaking real.... How did they do those duco sparkles anyway? Is that a custom-made wrap or did somebody really painstakingly align a strip of blue between two strips of silver sparkle?? (Or yellow-red in case of the shrinner's one)

I believe that is typically how it was done. I know that some wraps these days are printed like that and some are cut and layered in by hand. Modern Salesman wraps are almost always printed that way these days.
