I had two Big Band gigs last week Thursday and Saturday (two different venues) and thought it would be fun to take out a 5 piece kit instead of my usual 4 piece kit . The drums are a Ludwig Classic Maple 20/10/12/15 and for one gig I used the matching 5” snare and the second a 5” engraved Black Beauty . Cymbals we’re all Sabian (Artisans, Anthology and HHX) .

Great stuff! Almost the same setup, which I use (see my avatar): the 15" Floortom is great! I prefer it over my 14x14 FT for Big Band work.

Very nice. I played Bid Band style, a six piece plus singer for 25 years. Trumpet, 2 guys traded of on clarinet and sax, a bass player, piano and drums plus a singer. And I loved every minute it.
